You either agree with President Obama’s gun control plans, or you stand against innocent children. That’s the message the administration will telegraph on Wednesday, when it plans to hold a press conference flanked by kids. The announcement was made by White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday, who also disclosed that the proposals put together by Vice President Joe Biden will include bans on assault weapons and high capacity magazines.
In the past, presidents have welcomed children to bill signings (e.g., President Obama did so with Obamacare), but the dynamic shifts exponentially when kids become props in the pitch for legislation. That’s exactly what will happen tomorrow, when children who wrote the president in the wake of the Newtown shootings will surround him as he makes the case to curb Second Amendment rights.
Both President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have made the claim that “if it only saves one life,” their proposals will be worth taking. It’s an emotional argument that breaks down in the face of the slightest bit of intellectual scrutiny. Should we ban motorcycles and cars? Cuttlery? Self-defense classes? Regardless, it is not surprising that men who cloak statist power grabs in lofty rhetoric also see nothing wrong with using little ones as propaganda pawns for their scripted press conferences.

A commentator today made the suggestion that an NRA rebuttal feature dozens of children saved by guns in the background.
Tonight Vermont gunshops are open late filled with crowds of New Yorkers from across the border buying ammunition which apparently is unavailable in NY as there is no database set up to check and log in the purchasers, as is now required by Dictator Cuomo.
If people don’t like the Constitution, there is an amendment process. It seems odd that we’re being led to believe that winning an election no longer means one has to abide by the law of the land.
Here in MN, we’re facing the same thing. Mark Dayton (whom I’m no fan of) says he’s “open” to restricting gun rights here as well. Pretty soon Minnesotans will cross the border to the Dakotas and/or Wisconsin to get more ammunition, if Dayton (who has never held a real job at any point in his life) gets his way.
Check it out. The sad thing is, this dead thief will be counted in some idiot’s “gun death” statistics, even though society now no longer has to deal with a violent criminal. I’d like to see at least three lists: 1. Criminals killed by law-abiding citizens defending themselves, 2. Suicides and 3. All other gun-related deaths.

Children are becoming a shield for politicians all across the world. Look at the recent Russia’s ban on adoption by Americans in reponse to asset-freezing legislation directed towards its officials. Soon there will be agencies offering support-on-demand kid “groupies”, with the choice of age, race, and feeding levels. Need a group of starving non-white kids to attend a PC? We’ll deliver in 24 hours. Tears extra.
Good point on Russia’s adoption ban.
Remember the pro-Obama ad ‘The Future Children Project”? They took down the original video. Interesting.
Here are the lyrics:
Imagine an America
Where strip mines are fun and free
Where gays can be fixed
And sick people just die
And oil fills the sea
We don’t have to pay for freeways!
Our schools are good enough
Give us endless wars
On foreign shores
And lots of Chinese stuff
We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you
We haven’t killed all the polar bears
But it’s not for lack of trying
Big Bird is sacked
The Earth is cracked
And the atmosphere is frying
No, I can’t remember it because I’ve just seen it, and it has been a revelation of such power that I need some time to come back to my senses. I will spend this time silently conversing with Obama in the language of Cy Swearindger from Deadwood. Thanks for the link )
Someone was quick enough to grab the whole thing before its creators tried to throw it down the memory hole.
